Massage therapy is a type of manual therapy that includes the assessment and treatment of the musculoskeletal system. By interacting with the patient's nervous system through touch, a massage therapist can help to facilitate change in their muscles, joint, fascia, and other structures.

A massage therapy appointment includes the following:
Interview to gather information about your health history, what you would like to work on, and your goals.
Assessment to help determine which factors may be contributing to your symptoms.
Manual therapy (the hands on portion of the appointment). This may include an array of massage techniques, stretching, and movement. Your treatment is tailored to your preferences and goals.
Depending on your symptoms and goals, you may be prescribed with homecare. This can include exercises, stretches, and/or hydrotherapy. This homecare is recommended by your massage therapist to help you work towards your health goals.

Kira has been practicing Massage Therapy since 2020. She grew up in Oliver, BC. Massage Therapy College is what brought her to Vancouver Island. She fell in love with the Island and decided to stay. The Cowichan Valley is now her home.

Kira has been massaging people for most of her life. As a child, she would massage family members and friends. Providing healing touch has always come very naturally to her. She has known that she wanted to be a Massage Therapist since the age of 16, and she couldn’t be happier with her career choice.

Her experience includes (but is not limited to): chronic pain management, correcting muscular imbalances, treating muscle strains and whiplash, working with people who have conditions such as MS and fibromyalgia, working with people who have cancer and working on post operative scar tissue.

Her preferred area of practice is trigger point release. Her treatment style is a blend of relaxation and therapeutic. She mostly uses Swedish massage techniques and trigger point release, as well as myofascial release.
